Oh, how time has flown by. One month ago we were praying for our little baby to arrive safe and sound. Now, she is here and we could never have imagined the joy she would bring to our lives. She has completely changed our world for the good. She makes us laugh and fills our hearts with an indescribable love and joy.
We will be taking a picture every month by these bears. These are Preston and I's teddy bears from childhood. Mine is on the left side of the picture (with the red bow tie). His name is Joe-Joe. The other bear is Preston's and her name is Sammy. We look forward to watching Callie grow next to our favorite stuffed animals.
We are enjoying the journey so far.
Things Callie does: eats every 3 hours, dirties a lot of diapers, takes lots of naps and still sleeps really good at night. She even misses a feeding at night to give us more sleep. I told you she was sweet :) She likes to grunt and sometimes she does a little squeak or two. She has mastered focusing on an object and then she follows it when we move it side to side. She is starting to remain calm during her bath time and she is getting better with her tummy time.
Blessing of the month: being able to see the gift of life God has given us through Callie. Seeing His hand at work and the grand miracle life is.
Favorite thing: we love to watch all the faces she makes. She doesn't know exactly what she is doing right now but she will smile and then frown; pucker her lips and then scrunch her eye brows. She is just learning to use all the muscles in her face. We also love to watch her swing her arms in fists and kick her legs like crazy as she starts to get worked up.
Challenge of the month: Learning!! Learning everything and relearning how this life is going to work with a child in our lives. We can no longer run to the store without thinking about her and what she needs and what time she needs to eat. But, the learning is worth it.
Can you believe 1 month has already flown by!!? I told her I was going to quit feeding her so she would stay like this forever :) Just kidding. We look forward to the next month and how God is going to grow and change her.
The answer is NO I can't believe she is already 1 month old!!! It is so good to see Joe-Joe again! I am glad that you both have your bears to share with Miss Callie :) Keep up the GREAT work of parenthood.

Can't believe litte Miss Callie is already a month old! I'm so thankful you and Preston are cherishing every moment. Isn't it fun to just watch your little one and wonder at every little move and squeak?!?!?!

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - look at those sweet little legs! I cannot believe she is already 1 month old! Can't wait to meet her in person. I am glad that you both are just sitting there staring at her and all that she is doing. That is the way it should be! :)
