Baby Shower #2

My dear friends from the church down here threw me a surprise baby shower!!! They planned it to be during one of the busiest times of the year but they did it just for me so my parents could be there!! They are SO sweet and good to me. I am SO blessed with great friends all around this globe. I love my girls here in Puerto Vallarta. They are some of the best!!! Here are some pictures from the shower.

Me with my special surprise. A baby shower with my parents in P.V

Look at all the support from our dear friends

What we did at the shower:
Erika opened the night with some beautiful words about God blessing us with our baby and God selecting me to be the mother of this coming child. Then she opened up the room to share blessings and advice to me. It was a really precious time for me. It was great to hear all their love and support. Yes, there were tears shed. We were laughing because we were all true women in that room and ok, there were LOTS of tears shed :)

Erika planned some fun games. Win lose or draw, a baby word search and baby bingo (to name a few). We also played a game where everyone is given a clothes pin to wear on their shirt. If at any point during the night you cross your legs someone can steal your clothespin. The person at the end of the night with the most clothespins wins. Guess who won....Preston!! (try to notice our clothespins in the pictures).

While we played games we had some amazing food. Made with love by Patricia, Erika's mom. Then we opened gifts. It is tradition here that before you open the gift you have to guess who brought the gift. It is SO hard, let me tell you. No, there are no cards it's pretty much just luck!

Here is a picture of me trying to guess who brought the gift.
After I guessed who brought the gift, the person would come up front and sit by me while I opened the gift. Then we would get our picture taken together with the gift.
For those of you who have been down here, you will now see some familiar faces of dear friends.

Here are some precious outfits from Patricia

Some cute clothes from Yuri

Some really cute booties and a blanket from Paty

A basket and a pillow from Erika

A cute outfit from Silvia

An adorable little sweater from Silvia's mom and sister in law

This is the Erika behind a lot of the planning!

Here I am opening the gift from her and her family

My bassinet bed!!! (the only thing we still lacked)
Now our little girl can sleep in our bedroom for the first month or so!!!

To end the night there was some singing and cake. We wrapped up the night early because the next day was Christmas eve!! I couldn't believe how many people actually came during such a crazy time of the year. Words can't describe how blessed I feel. To have the opportunity to have and experience 2 different baby showers in 2 totally different cultures. We do have 2 different cultures but at the same time they are so much a like. They both sure know how to shower people with love. I am SO thankful for and love both places, cultures and most of all the people.

Erika, Silvia, Silvia, Patricia, Yuri y los demas, gracias por todo el trabajo con mi baby shower. Fue un gran dia para mi y mi familia. Nunca vamos a olvidarlo! Ustedes son unas amigas muy lindas. No puedo imaginar mi vida sin ustedes. Les quiero mucho!!!! Gracias por la gran sopresa!
